Set in the 1980s-era South Korea, this coming-of-age graphic memoir chronicles the author’s life, beginning at age four. Funny, tender, and always honest, the author recounts how she rejected the expectations first of her parents and then of her country. Luckily, she discovered art through comic books and found a way to write her own narrative, casting herself as the hero of her own life story.
